It's not clear from this whether Mike reviewed the original Scratches or the newer "Director's Cut" version. From what I've read elsewhere, the latter's an even better game, not that it would in any way change the rating away from Adult.

This was based on the original release, but the review got lost in the shuffle somewhere along the lines and rediscovered back in June. I have also heard good things about the Director's Cut, which is similarly priced (budget) if I understand correctly.

Mine, too.

I nearly finished the original Scratches back when my old gaming PC croaked  and am still trying to decide whether to spend another $20 to start fresh with the updated version or just try to resurrect an old saved game from the copy I've already got. (And I doubt there's much of a market for a used copy of the original now that the newer one's out!)

Scratches is an adventure game that was released last year. It received mostly good reviews, and has now been re-released as Scratches: Director’s Cut with updated graphics, a new sound-track, a new alternate ending and a new chapter.

For those of you that you get this game in the hope that there will be plot differences from the actual game, sorry to disappoint you, but up to the end, the games are identical. The extra chapter and improved graphics are the only differences,

So I guess that sums it up ... I looked on Goozex and both versions are going pretty 'cheap' in terms of points so there is little hope to recoup anything that way.
