Glad you enjoyed this one, Mike. It's one of my favorites as well. It's my most favorite RPG of all time and one of my most favorite games PERIOD of all time. Back in high school when the SNES version was new, I pretty much played FF6 for nearly a whole year. Until Yoshi's Island and Chrono Trigger came along, of course. --Cary

Yeah, it was very nice and looked really good as well. It is still in a vein of RPG that I don't like nearly as much as western stuff*** - I would never touch this on anything but a handheld - but I'm really glad I played it. It is an excellent game with great characters.

*** specifically, I would - and did more than once - drop this game in a second to play the '90's cRPG-like' Mazes of Fate.

And don't forget that FF6 has pretty much the perfect 16-bit game soundtrack, though you can't tell that as much on the GBA. --Cary

I dunno - I thought it sounded gorgeous.

The GBA has had so many crazy-good jRPG's ... I got hooked by Golden Sun and have now hit all 6 FF games as well. I hope that the DS and/or PSP can keep things going, though the track record has been less than stellar to date.

SINCE I ALREADY HAVE FF3  Bragging? Who's bragging?

Is the new stuff (the 'Dragon's Dungeon' I think it was called) worth it??

I'll leave that call for Cary ... these are all first-timers for me. Rebuying is always a tough value call.

I think it just depends how much you like playing and replaying FF6. One of the new Espers is a giant Cactrot. And it gives you a speed +2 boost, which only one other Esper gave you and most quickly evolved it into another form that didn't give you a speed boost. --Cary

I just ran into one very big reason...the save battery is starting to die on my copy! :x all 3 files gone  one of them had several of the characters at lvl 99, the other was my own save file.
