Yep good review i havent played the NS expantion pack but spend a lot of time playing 2142 and agree totally, its a great game for young fans of FPS to play, i play online with my son and find the community a lot more mature than the CS players.

The only problems i find with the BF expantions is that not everyone gets them and the ISPs will only dedicate a few servers for them(remember im in Aus and we have crap ISPs)

Also i find if you play on a server that has an admin you will find that the swearing and bad language is kept in toe as they will ban the players concerned.

Hmmm ... I tend to find the opposite in the US (not specific to Battlefield) - many servers update quickly and you have to keep up or play on servers with the same 2 people ...

I have to agree with riv-1. Most BF players don't get the expansion packs and most servers don't switch to them.

I bought Road to Rome and SEcret Weapons for BF42 and there were few servers for them. Same with Special Forces and the online map packs for BF2.

For the most part though I could always find a game with the xpacs. There were enough servers even though most people still just played the regular game. I'm not as sure about the downloadable map packs. I have one of them and I really ain't sure I could find anybody playing it right now.

Yeh i think its a case of wait and see with BF everyone waits to see if the new expansion will be popular and no one goes out and gets it.
