I know I've said this before, but I'd like to reinterate that the music in Tales of Legendia is really, really good. You know what I think would be neat? I think it would be fun to write Go Shiina a letter telling him what a good job he's done with music in games. But unfortunately I don't know an address to send a letter to, and I bet he wouldn't understand what was in the letter anyway. Hopefully people appreciate his music enough in Japan. --Cary

It's funny, as I was rereading my Commandos Strike Force review before archiving the files, I realized I hadn't said anything about the music, which was very well done ... but that had really occurred to me while watching the 'making of' unlockable. So before I panicked and rethought my review I replayed one of my favorite levels and realized that the music didn't really change the game itself - but when listening to it during the credits and the special features it was quite nice.

That just made me think of how much music *can* impact your feelings about a game - like the opening of Oblivion, or much of Jeremy Soule's stuff for that matter, or other good game music. It can really elevate the experience as you note.

Jeremy Soule did the music for a much-overlooked Super Nintendo Squaresoft title called Secret of Evermore. The game was made in the US and was a nice first (and last) try by Square USA. I liked Soule's different approach to game music in Evermore. He's pretty good with 'mood music' isn't he? --Cary
