We have Burnout 2 & 3 for the XBox and my father has Burnout Revenge. The only thing I'd add for parents considering the game is our experience with our son watching (& playing some). Luke started seeing the games at 2 and he's playing some at 3. I don't think he's being harmed by the games, but he does tell me to "crash into that car" while I'm driving sometimes. If hearing that will drive you or someone else nuts, you may want to hold off on letting very young children watch or play any of the Burnouts.

First (and so far, only) game I've bought for the PSP.

Fast cars, explosions, and mayhem without the 'realism' factor....what else could you want (besides saved replays)! Seriously, a fun handheld game that really shows off the capabilities of the PSP. Perfect for 'short bursts' of play in the 'crash' mode...or longer games in the various races.

Highly recommended.

I don't think that games are necessarily generically harmful, but like any other stimulus you need to measure the impact on your child - with the knowledge that a 3 year old lacks the critical reasoning skills to truly separate reality from fiction.

I look at that scenario this way:
- if you(not you personally, 'you' in the larger sense) are one of those parents who lets your kids ride trikes or other vehicles around toy stores unsupervised while you shop, you should find out if they are translating 'crash into that' into their real life.
- ditto on the playground.

But the bottom line is always involved parenting, which is once again something I love about everyone here - our parenting styles wouldn't be labelled 'abandonware' :)
