Yep, that is what I've been hearing from PSP folks as well - much ado about crap. As opposed to The Witcher, which is M for all the right reasons (and still very much not for kids).

What I find most interesting is that most of the other review sites I've read don't talk much about MH2's gameplay. If they knock any points off the review, it's largely because Rockstar "wussed out" and "wouldn't stand up to the ESRB to defend their artistic vision."

Which is basically a $40 way of saying "Not enough braiiiiiiiinzzzzz!"

It's a weird bizarro-world thing-- a site that prides itself on reviewing games for content focuses on the gameplay more than the sites that claim to care about gameplay.

I guess I shouldn't find it all that surprising. If you're not titillated by the gore, or the sex, or the sexy gore, or the gory sex, then you're not apt to excuse bad controls. But if you're the kind of guy who just bought the game so he could do something revolting with a pair of pliers without getting arrested for it, then you're not apt to care if the controls feel off.

Give Rockstar credit -- they were right not to send you a review copy
