It looks like there is at least a minimum of an overhead view (several notches up from the old Wizardry series...

I remember the pain of trying to resolve that Wizardry level where many of the intersections would spin you in a random direction... ugh... that was a pain to map even though all levels were on a 20x20 grid or something like that...
